The
government dismissed a recent report quoted to Moody's Analytics, saying it was
the personal opinion of a junior analyst which was passed off as a commentary
on India by a rating agency "by the media to buttress the narrative it
wants to portray."
While in the
recent past when the same agency upgraded India’s rating from stable to
positive, the government was too fast to capitalise on the report.
The reaction
is similar to TINDER. It swiped right to the positive report and swiped left to
negative report. The government should
not dismiss everything that seems to be in conflict with it. Rather it should
aim for constructive and integrative solutions to emerging issues, if it does
not want to be swiped left by the people of India.
