Who is responsible for terrorist attacks?

Before continuing, I want to state I strongly condemn what has happened in Paris and my sympathy is with the survivors.
Recently, Paris faced a terrorist attack on its soil in which 129 people were killed. Leaders from around the world have condemned the attack. Hollande even mentioned the attack as an ‘act of war’ by ISIS. But let us contemplate on why a group from a different region would attack a peace loving nation like Paris.
There are two probable causes. First, the people who attacked are barbarians who cannot be reasoned because some people just want to watch the world burn. Second, there was a provocation by Paris and similar situated countries.
The possibility of the first scenario to be true holds little a very less probability. The human evolution has taught us to fight and kill for our safety rather than for pleasure. There have been recorded events of barbaric killings for sports but they does not hold any value Before jumping to conclusions, let us start with chronology of the major events in West Asia in the last decade.

Iraq invaded on the pretext "to disarm Iraq in pursuit of peace, stability, and security both in the Gulf region and in the United States."
Rebels in Syria provided external help.
American troops in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon for helping the host countries and recently to contain ISIS.

And if we look at the region of the stronghold of ISIS, we will find that all the above mentioned countries are the neighbours of ISIS. It is a big coincidence to be neglected. All the NATO members were supportive of the invasions. If we notice, media never termed them as attacks but they were given the name of invasions. Why is that when we attack others, it is for self defence but when others attack us we are attacked. It is all a matter for perspective. If Hollande wants to avenge the death of his countrymen, do not the same logic applies to people of other countries? The only solution is to apologise and come clean with the mistakes that have been committed. Germany did a commendable job after the holocaust. I am sad to state again that an eye for eye will only make the world blind.

The test for the second theory is a very simple social experiment. When you go out tomorrow, poke the most calm and non-violent person from your workplace and do it daily. And as you already know, one of the coming days, this non-violent person will be over his knees and hand on your collar with a dead threat. It is up to you to judge the victim and outlaw!!
