New Ravana is in town!!

The season of lights is approaching, so I decided to find the reason why Diwali is celebrated? So I came up with an ingenuous idea of googling it. I expected some websites offering in depth wisdom behind the story of Rama returning to Ayodhya. Instead I found dozens of sites asking me to spend on Diwali gifts for my friends and family. I narrowed my search and found websites, not originating in our country, explaining people in the other parts of the world why we celebrate Diwali. I even found top ten reasons on why I should celebrate it. The Diwali week is the convergence of all faiths, something had happened on and around Diwali. After getting tired of looking around the deals which could get me lucrative offers and empty my pocket, I turned to the most authentic source- Dadi (grandmother). Everyone knows the story and the moral behind it. Good always overcomes the Evil.
Time and again, Good has been able to show its prowess against the Bad. The message is same, no matter what faith we believe in. The only thing I could not grasp is that why the Bad prevails. And why Good waits for the Bad to become worse. It should be made aware of the broken window syndrome.
And today we have a new Evil. Since 19th century it has spread its wings across the globe. The origin of this rakshasa lies in the pursuance of humans to become better than the earth. It started as a handful of black cloud from the humungous machines built to fulfil the desires of the few. It was advertised as change and future, which was never defined. This rakshasa has does not discriminate against anyone. The land, the water and the air have been ached by it evenly. The surreal dreams where the streams of horror enter your body, engulfing you and controlling are becoming literal. And we are just standing dumbstruck, waiting for our turn.
The name of the rakshasa is pollution. It has been allowed to fester for too long. It has gained a ubiquitous status and lurking behind us to attack at the every moment we let our guard down. We have to realise that this time no Puroshotam Ram will come to save us because this evil is not of the origin of Gods. All the rakshasas and even Lucifer were fallen angels. It was the responsibility of Gods to bring them to justice. This pollution is a human error and we are at the dawn of macabre tales of plague and horror.
Only a collective epiphany of the human race can save the world from the danger it upholds. Not doing Bad is not enough. We have to be proactive towards Good. Each and every step that will lead us to a sustainable world should be adopted. The acceptability and hierarchy of status in a society should not be measured in terms of assets which are transient, but in terms of Good done towards and for the society. Even measuring Good will create a class of people, but when we can measure God then why should we not measure Good.
