(This is a true story. The event explained below took place in Faridabad in 2013. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed to alphabets. Out of respect for the alive, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.)
The story is
at its end and all left is the chase. The laconic form, we turned tail and
reached the home. They chased us for few kilometres and we called our friends
in college. The miscreants in the story threw stones at us. The pillion even
attempted to jump on the car. But we managed to reach the gates of college. Not
more than twenty year olds were ready to beat the hell out of whoever was on a
bike. We just had to give the signal. They escorted us to home and there is
nothing more to it. Now it’s just a memory of all our lives. T and A had broken up. V is
doing job is some distant city. I am writing this down. And, honestly, I do not
even know what the fifth friend in the story is doing. It looks like time has
laminar flow. It expands in all directions. All we can do is run along with it.
The view from individual point of reference might be chaotic filled with entropy.
And someone from outside the plane of reference may find it astounding. It all
depends on how we choose to look at it.
Now, this is
the part I am really interested about. The relevance of why I am sharing this
part of my memory. What was our mistake? What was the mistake of T? Why we could not call the police
right then and have them arrested? The only answer was we were living in a city
stuck between the old and the new. We could not call police because we knew if
we did, the matter would have reached to our families. It was not us I was
worried about. It was T. Her family
didn’t know she was with us because in our society it is unacceptable that a
girl should be with boys. If we were five boys, instead of four boys and a
girl, the bike would have never spared a glare on us. I could never understand
the logic behind the question of one of the rider that what a girl was doing
with four boys. In his mind, he already has given her the status of a slut.
This is the world they have been brought up in.
Now I want
to ask everyone who is reading this that would the incident happen if T were a boy. This is what I want to
change about our country. I think we are still in that part of evolution where the
theory of Charles Darwin's rule-survival of the fittest. The fittest can survive
with help of might and even brains. And here the evolution has gone wrong. It
has given equal mental capabilities to both men and women but forgot to ensure
equal physical strength in women. If evolution were a person, I hope it is a
women to realise what blunder it has created..........
P.S –
Respect women and evolution will be kind to you!!
